Subject of activity

The object of the activity of the Association in public benefit „Association of Breast Surgeons“ is: 

1.     Activity contributing to the development of scientific and practical activity in the field of breast surgery. Deepening of cooperation and exchange with similar organizations in Bulgaria and abroad;
2.     Activities aimed at introducing in the Republic of Bulgaria the internationally accepted principles, norms, standards in the field of breast surgery;
3.     Work on the preparation of proposals for the introduction of standards, as well as the introduction of internationally recognized methods of quality control in the field of breast surgery;
4.     Activity for the acquisition of new scientific and practical knowledge, improvement of the quality of medical care in the field of breast surgery, through continuing medical education under the conditions and in the order defined in the regulations;
5.     Activity to bring together organisations and institutions to develop common positions, legislative initiatives, present common views and take joint action with stakeholders and competent authorities in the country, as well as with European partners in the field of breast surgery;
6.     Activities to develop the professional interests of its members;
7.     Assist medical universities in the country as well as other educational entities in carrying out medical activities in the field of breast surgery;
8.     Helping to implement health care reform in the public interest and address health care issues concerning breast surgery;
9.     Organization of national and international scientific events, multidisciplinary thematic conferences and symposia and congresses in the field of breast surgery and related medical specialties; 
10. Assisting the judiciary when forensic expertise in breast surgery is required;
11. Adoption of evidence-based protocols and consensus statements in breast surgery; 
12. Publication of scientific journals, newsletters, monographs and materials, independently and/or jointly with various bodies, institutions, individuals and/or legal entities, as well as with international organizations with a view to the development of breast surgery and specialists in this field;

Objectives and means to achieve them

The main objectives of the association are:

1.   Stimulating research work in the field of breast surgery by establishing partnerships, contacts and scientific exchanges with other organizations in the country and abroad;
2.   Maintaining a high level of professional qualification of breast surgery specialists;
3.   Transferring the achievements of medicine and breast surgery of other countries to Bulgaria and promoting Bulgarian medical science in other countries;
4.   Developing, organizing and conducting programs to maintain and update the qualifications of specialists and those working in the field of breast surgery;
5.   Development and expansion of prevention, prevention and population health promotion activities in the field of breast surgery;
6.   Development and improvement of personnel working in the field of breast surgery;

The Association shall freely determine the means of achieving its objectives.

The Association shall achieve the objectives described in Art. 1 by:

1.   Organization of congresses, conferences, seminars, symposia, trainings to stimulate research work in the field of breast surgery through partnerships, contacts and scientific exchange with other organizations in the country and abroad.
2.   Organizes and participates in congresses, conferences, seminars, symposia, trainings to maintain a high level of professional qualification of specialists in the field of breast surgery;
3.   Conduct, commission and support research related to the objectives of Article 5(1). 1;
4.   Implementation of projects and initiatives related to the objectives referred to in Article 5, para. 1;
5.   Publication of material in the field of the activity referred to in Art. 1;

6.   Organisation of conferences, seminars and other public events at national and international level to implement the objectives of Article 5, para. 1, as well as carrying out other activities not prohibited by law, related to the object of Art. 4 par. 1 and the objectives referred to in Art. 5 par. 1;
